We’ve just opened our 22nd cafe, and it’s a special one—it’s our first in Maryland! 

 Compass Coffee is now at the University of Maryland, right in the heart of campus at 4210 Knox Road.

This cafe is a milestone for so many reasons. It’s our first location in a completely new environment, embedded in the vibrant and growing UMD community. Centrally located on South Campus, it’s a multifunctional space designed for everything from studying to meeting up with friends, with easy access to dorms and apartments. We’re excited to create a hub for connection, collaboration, and, of course, great coffee.

UMD’s energy is contagious. From its culture of innovation and forward-thinking spirit to the school pride and eager students, we can’t wait to immerse ourselves in this dynamic community. I still remember my first solo coffee trip in college—my go-to was a caramel latte (yes, basic). It wasn’t until my Marine days that I truly developed a love for black coffee. Funny how life works, and now it feels full circle to create this space for today’s students.

This milestone wouldn’t be possible without our hardworking Compass Coffee team. Their dedication, passion, and hustle make moments like this happen, and I’m so proud to celebrate this new chapter with them.
