WASHINGTON: In celebration of Women’s History Month, we are proud to announce the limited release of the RBG Tin. The launch of this tin coincides with the recent release of Academy Award winner Freida Lee Mock’s documentary film, Ruth: Justice Ginsburg in Her Own Words.
The film tells the improbable story of RBG’s rise as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, despite facing closed doors, and legal and social barriers. It also reveals both the public and private sides of a resilient, resourceful woman who survived adversity to become a revered Justice and icon for gender equality and women’s rights. In a time when it can seem hard to sort through a media landscape that is saturated with chaotic and conflicting opinions, it’s refreshing to see the world through Justice Ginsburg’s eyes and in her own words, and the words of people close to her.
"When the film team approached us about creating the signature RBG tin, we knew we had to jump at the opportunity to honor RBG’s legacy and be a part of this important work," says Compass Coffee VP of Cafe Operations, Max Deem. "Even now, six months after her passing, Justice Ginsburg continues to be a beacon for all that is good in us as Americans."
Compass Coffee is proudly made in DC; for us, Justice Ginsburg has always felt as much a local hero as a towering figure in law and social justice.
"As we created the tin and reflected more on the film, the Compass connection became obvious," says VP of Corporate Development, Kuran Malhotra. "From a young age, even before she was sworn in on the Supreme Court, Justice Ginsburg devoted her life to recalibrating the moral compass of our country to point us all towards a more just and equitable future. We are proud to honor her legacy in this small way."
You can purchase your tin on Compass Coffee's Website, here.
