WASHINGTON: Washington, DC-based coffee roasting company, Compass Coffee, has recently partnered with East Coast distribution giant, Rainforest Distribution. This partnership will extend Compass Coffee’s consumer packaged goods (CPG) presence from the DC / Maryland / Virginia region into Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Connecticut over the first half of 2021.
"This is an extremely important step for us," says VP of Sales, Layna Connolly. "We have established a loyal customer base in the DC metro area - people love our products. We are excited to bring these same great products to new customers in the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and beyond."
Over the last five years, Compass Coffee has been available at regional grocery stores in the DMV, including Whole Foods, Streets Market, Union Kitchen Grocery, Giant, and others. Now, with the help of Rainforest’s massive distribution network, customers will be able to find Compass Coffee in over 1500 grocery stores throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.
"It was definitely a challenge preparing for this level of growth, especially during a pandemic, when resources were tight," remarks Production Manager, Chas Newman. "There were ups and downs, but a core value at Compass is 'Always Find a Way.' Through hard work, dedication, and willingness to adapt, we were able to push forward to a point where we are ready to start expanding our network and customer reach."
