We got our start in 2014 with an idea that was as simple as it was profound:

That great coffee doesn't have to be complicated, fancy or hard to pronounce.

-

We believe that the best cup of coffee is the one that points you in the right direction at the start of your day, every day: just like a Compass.

We were founded by two Marines in Washington DC

Marines who, after years of drinking terrible coffee on deployment, became obsessed with the quest to find the perfect cup.

They started off looking for the secret to perfect coffee...

But soon this simple desire grew into something much more significant.

It was the realization that coffee is more than just a drink.

It's a ritual that brings people together, facilitates human connection, and makes your day better.

It was from this profound insight that the idea of Real Good Coffee was born.

Real Good Coffee is more than a slogan. It’s more than just our founding mission. It’s a mantra. A promise to you.

Real Good Coffee is at the heart of all we do.

It's an expression of our unwavering commitment to ethical sourcing, masterful blending, and peak roasting in small batches.

Because we know that it's about much more than just a cup of coffee.

It's about community, connection, and the power of coffee to always point you in the right direction.

Ethically Sourced

You should feel as good about drinking our coffee as we do about making it. The best coffee only comes from the best beans, and the best beans only come from farmers who want the best from and for their land. We’ve spent years developing a global network of like-minded farmers who share this understanding and share in our mission.

Peak Roasted

There is a science to roasting coffee. But creating and capturing perfect flavor is an art. Our roasting team combines the exacting requirements of a chemist with the instinctive timing and technique of an artist, to produce our distinctive line of blends and single origins.

American Made

When it comes to the pursuit of perfection, and a commitment to quality and craftsmanship, sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands. Which to us, that means making as much as possible locally, in America—from our roasters, to our canning machines, to our cups and lids.
